Depart Brisbane on this fully guided off-road adventure, Eco-Experience
discovery of Moreton Island. Sea Ferry Cruise via Moreton
Bay Marine Park and spot Dolphins, Fish and sometimes Whales,
Dugong and Turtles, with free morning tea on the water overlooking
the Glass House Mountains. Arrive on Moreton Island’s
west coast and sandy beach – the world’s second
largest sand island.
Travel along the beach before taking one of the many 4WD tracks
across the island. This journey will travel via scenic Lakes,
Beautiful wildflowers and bird life until you arrive at Moreton
Island’s remote Eastern Surf Beach, a highlight!!
Travel beside the surf to the Blue Lagoon campsite and take
a short coastal forest walk to the white sandy beaches of
Blue Lagoon, the islands largest freshwater lake. These sand
filtered waters of Blue lagoon (widow lake) are a perfect
place to sit back and relax on the beach, swim or snorkel
in the crystal clear water.
Enjoy a fresh picnic lunch in nature’s paradise overlooking
the golden eastern surf beach before you travel along the
beach towards toward famous Spitfire Creek where you can look
for eels and hear stories of the past. Drive to an aboriginal
midden site and see ancient fish traps before the beach highway
takes you onto the Coloured sands of Harpers Rock and Wild
Cape Moreton.
The lookout, which is over 120 metres high, gives breathtaking
views of the island and is a perfect vantage point to spot
dolphins and turtles. A great spot in season for land based
whale watching the 360 degree views show you just how big
Moreton is and also is has great views to view flinders reef
marine park –a diving and snorkeling Mecca, Noosa Heads
and the Sunshine Coast.
In the afternoon explore honeymoon bay beach and snorkel the
champagne pools, (tides permitting) before a scenic 4wd journey
down the west coast, via the Bulwer Township. Walk, swim or
relax at the old shipwrecks before departing on the ferry
with the sun setting over the glass House Mountains.
